Chief Fire Officer Julius A. Kuunor and some members of the Ghana National Fire Service Council will on Monday, July 22, visit the seven accident victims who are currently on admission at the St. Dominic Catholic Hospital in Akwatia and the Kade Government Hospital.

The seven firefighters who are stationed at the Kade fire department had the fire engine in which they were onboard somersault several times after it was involved in an accident at Adankrono while they were attending to another accident involving a fuel tanker that had fallen off the road at Otwenkwanta.

The Eastern Regional Fire Commander ACFO Jennifer Naa Yarley Quaye on behalf of the management of the service quickly rushed to both hospitals to ensure the utmost treatment for the men and also allay fears of family members and relatives who wanted to know the state of the officers.

The Chief Fire Officer is expected to lead a high-powered delegation including some council members to visit the victims who are due for X-rays and head CT scans, on Tuesday.

Citi News can also confirm that the Kade fire engine with registration number FS 438 which was involved in the accident on Sunday, July 21, happens to be the only fire engine taking charge of three districts, including Kwaebibirim Municipality (Kade), Denkyembour District ( Akwatia) and Lower West Akim Municipality (Asamankese).

This means these three districts are currently without a fire engine, in case of any fire incident or eventualities residents and business owners in the three districts would have to rely on tenders from Suhum, Akim Oda or Nsawam.
