GNFS sounds alarm: Tema Region experiences “One day, One fire” menace

GNFS Withdraws Assault Case Against British National

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has expressed concerns regarding the alarming rate of fire outbreaks in the Tema Region, dubbing it “one day, one fire”.

This dire situation was revealed by ADO Ebenezer Yenzu, Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Tema Regional GNFS, during an interview with hostess Nana Asabea on Plan B FM’s social and lifestyle programme, ‘Nyansapɔ Fie’.

According to ADO Yenzu, the Tema Region has witnessed a surge in fire incidents, with the GNFS responding to multiple calls on a daily basis. Electrical faults, kitchen accidents, and arson are the leading causes of these fires. ADO Yenzu emphasised the importance of individual vigilance and community cooperation in preventing fires.

The GNFS has been working tirelessly to educate the public on fire safety and prevention measures. However, ADO Yenzu stressed that resident cooperation is crucial in combating this menace. He appealed to the public to report any fire hazards or incidents promptly to the GNFS.

ADO1 Ebenezer Gaizie at the Safety Department of the Tema HQ warned that the harmattan season poses a significant fire risk. He emphasised that fire safety is a shared responsibility, requiring both the GNFS and the public to play their part.

As the Tema Region grapples with the “one day, one fire” reality, the GNFS remains committed to raising awareness and preventing fire outbreaks. Residents are urged to take heed of the GNFS’s warnings and take proactive steps to safeguard their lives and properties.
