GJA condemns assault of two journalists at Walewale

GJA urges Parliament to Pass broadcasting bill immediately

The Northern Region branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has condemned assault on two journalists at Walewale in the North East Region.

A statement signed by Mr Yakubu Abdul Majeed, Northern Region Chairman of GJA and copied to the Plan B News on Thursday explained that the two journalists, Mr Alhassan Dokurugu, a reporter with Asaase Radio and Mr Tahiru Ibrahim of Zaa Multimedia were assaulted while covering an incident involving the burning of a bus at Walewale.

The statement said the journalists were assaulted by Military Personnel in the presence of Police Officers at the Nalerigu junction at Walewale in the North East Region.
