The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has announced that as part of measures aimed at checking the spread of COVID-19 at its Headquarters among officers and the general public alike, all persons of Eighteen (18) years and above who wish to enter its Headquarters must provide evidence of full vaccination for COVID-19.
In a press release dated Monday, January 17, 2022 and signed on behalf of the Comptroller-General, Lawrence Agyei Agyapong, the measures is to take effect Monday, January 24, 2022.
According to the press release, persons who are fully vaccinated should have taken the full dose(s) of vaccines approved and registered by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) Ghana and the World Health Organization (WHO).
“All unvaccinated officers and persons of the general public who appear at the GIS reception would not be allowed to enter,” portion of the press release read.
Concluding, the press release mentioned that vaccinated persons would be given access to the premises of the Headquarters upon showing evidence of genuine vaccination cards.
