Former Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Gifty Oware-Mensah, has been released by the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) after being questioned as part of an ongoing probe into alleged ghost names within the scheme.
Oware-Mensah was reportedly taken into custody on Friday, March 7, and briefly detained before being released on Saturday, March 8, following her cooperation with investigators.
Sources suggest her questioning is part of a broader effort to uncover financial irregularities in the NSS. While the extent of her involvement remains unclear, she is expected to be recalled for further interrogation.
Despite her key role in the administration and financial management of the Scheme, Oware-Mensah has yet to make a public statement on the matter.
