Ghost Names, Irregularities Still Persist Despite Ghana Card – NDC Communicator

Ghost Names, Irregularities Still Persist Despite Ghana Card – NDC Communicator
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Confidence Etse, an NDC communicator for Tema West, has criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP), now in opposition, over what he described as failed promises during their time in government. Speaking on Plan B FM’s Nkosuo Nsem, he argued that while the NPP introduced Free SHS and the Ghana Card, the initiatives did not deliver as expected. According to him, ghost names still flooded government payrolls despite assurances that the Ghana Card would eliminate such irregularities.

He recalled that former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia once claimed the Ghana Card was more important than interchanges, yet scandals such as those at the National Service Secretariat exposed inefficiencies in the NPP’s administration. Etse insisted that the party failed to match its promises with practical results, leaving behind weak systems and unresolved challenges.

Contrasting this with President John Dramani Mahama, Etse emphasized that roads built during Mahama’s first term are still benefiting the nation today. He added that Mahama, now in office, is focused on instituting the right regulations to make Ghana self-sufficient, ensuring citizens will no longer feel compelled to travel abroad in search of opportunities.
