Ghana’s Inflation drops to 53.6%

Ghana’s headline inflation has dropped significantly from 9.4 percent in September 2025 to 8.0 percent in October 2025.

According to the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), this marks the tenth consecutive monthly decline in inflation, representing a 1.4 percentage point decrease.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for October 2025 stood at 257.0, translating to a year-on-year (YoY) inflation rate of 8.0 percent.

Ghana’s inflation drops for 8th straight month

On average, prices of goods and services increased by 8.0 percent between October 2024 and October 2025.

The month-on-month inflation decreased by 4.0 percent, reflecting a drop in general price levels.

Food inflation fell sharply to 9.5 percent in October from 11.0 percent in September, while non-food inflation also declined to 6.9 percent from 8.2 percent over the same period.

The GSS described the decline as a positive indication of progress toward macroeconomic stability, attributing it to ongoing measures to strengthen the cedi, supported by the Bank of Ghana’s recent monetary policy rate cuts.
