Ghanaians need to hear the horror stories that the Akufo-Addo regime put us through – Vormawor

“Vote For Me If You Are Tired Of High Tax Rate”-Akufo Addo’s Old Campaign Tweet Pops Up

The lead Convener of the FixTheCountry and Democracy Hub, Oliver Barker-Vormawor has said Ghanaians need to hear the horror stories that the Akufo-Addo regime put them through.

Oliver Barker-Vormawor noted that Foreign embassies revealed to him they had intelligence that made them certain he wouldn’t survive in Ghana and offered to extract him into an asylum.

Oliver Barker-Vormawor in a post on X wrote, “ The public has no idea what it has taken to still be standing here, in dignity. Foreign embassies constantly offered to extract me into asylum because of the intelligence they had—intelligence that made them certain I wouldn’t survive to see 2024. Still, I refused. I stayed”.

“Ghanaians need to hear the stories of horror that the Previous regime put us through! We must tell our stories”, he added.

He further detailed his ordeal when he was arrested and jailed, “When I exposed attempts to stab and poison me in jail, the government finally admitted that they planted a National Security operative in my tiny 4×4 cell—not to kill me, they claimed, but to “monitor” me. And knife, poisoned bread and mobile phone the other inmates beat out of him, when he tried to get close to me were nothing but monitoring devices, I am sure.

“What threat did I pose, stripped down to my boxers, locked behind two security gates, with 50 armed police officers standing guard outside? And yet, these are the same people given platforms today to preach about morality and democracy”, he added.

Oliver Barker-Vormawor in appearing on TV3 Key Point also revealed that the erstwhile Akufo-Addo Bawumia regime was committed to destroying Ghana’s democracy.

According to Oliver Vormawor, the Pandora’s box needs to be opened for Ghanaians to see what happened over the past years.

He stated, “ So people have weaponized our Judicial system and you were talking about opening Pandora’s box, yes we must open the box, we must allow Ghanaians to see what has happened over the past few years. What we had was a regime that was committed to destroying our democracy”.
