The value of mobile money transactions has dropped again by 50 percent following the commencement of the implementation of the Electronic Transaction Levy (E-levy) on Sunday, May 1, 2022.

In Authority of this Bohyeba Afriyie Interviewed the Public Relations Officer Of the Mobile Money Agents Association Mr Charles Addo on Plan B Fm’s Ebanoosen and he stated that Mostly During Holidays and weekend’s customers Withdraw than send so to give The Effect of E- levy benefit of Doubt they started Analyzing it from May 4 2022 so they get an Accurate result.

He said that due to the lack of education on the system, mobile money business, popularly referred to as MoMo, had experienced some anxious moments of panic withdrawals and a decline in transactions.
He also s confirmed that members had been reporting of slow business since the start of the levy and he pleaded with his members to invest more in Educating their customers because the E-levy affects them more.

He concluded that they are Trusting GRA To spill all about The levy so Ghanaians get to Understand it more.
