The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that the Black Stars will play against World Cup co-hosts, Mexico in an international friendly on October 14 at an unnamed stadium.
The game against the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup champions Mexico will happen in the United States as part of the 20th anniversary of the MexTour.
According to the GFA, the international friendly will serve as part of Ghana’s preparations for important competitions such as the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November and the Africa Cup of Nations in January next year.
Ghana is yet to record a win against Mexico in any of the three encounters with the last game on June 28, 2017, a game the Black Stars lost 1-0 courtesy an Elias Hernandez penalty.
Ghana will later play the US National team at GEODIS Park in Nashville on October 17 before wrapping up their tour of the United States.
