Ghana School of Law postpones exams over flooding in Accra, assures students of no penalty

Ghana School of Law postpones exams over flooding in Accra, assures students of no penalty

The Ghana School of Law has delayed the commencement of examinations scheduled for Monday following heavy rainfall that triggered flooding in parts of Accra.

In a notice to students dated June 29, 2026, management said the decision was taken after closely monitoring weather conditions and consulting the Chair of the Independent Examinations Committee.

Authorities emphasised that student safety remains the top priority, warning candidates not to risk travelling through flooded or unsafe routes to reach examination centres.

The school assured students that no candidate would be penalised for missing or delaying examinations due to the weather disruption, describing the situation as an “Act of God.”

Management further indicated that examinations would only proceed once conditions improve and it is deemed safe for students to travel, adding that revised schedules would be communicated through official channels.

The announcement comes as parts of Accra continue to experience widespread flooding following hours of intense rainfall, disrupting transport and daily activities across the capital.
