Tema Metro Football Association Chairman, Daasebre Adu Asare, has expressed strong confidence in the leadership of Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku, describing the game’s current state as being in “safe hands” and on a steady path of development.
Speaking on Plan B FM’s Pae Mu Ka Sports Show hosted by Dan K. Pobi Okocha on Thursday, August 14, 2025, Daasebre Adu Asare commended the GFA’s efforts in building a solid foundation for the nation’s football, especially in the youth categories.
He noted that the U16, U18, U19, and U21 national teams now have proper structures to ensure smooth progression to the senior national teams , a development he believes will secure the future of Ghana football.
According to him, the current administration has also introduced a standard contract policy for players, a significant improvement compared to previous regimes. “The system now ensures that players’ rights are protected and their careers are better managed,” he stated.
Daasebre Adu Asare urged clubs and stakeholders in the Ghanaian football fraternity to embrace the ongoing reforms and work collectively towards sustaining the progress.
Touching on the recent amendment to the GFA statutes, which extends the presidential term limit from two to three terms , the Tema Metro FA Chairman said the move reflects the overwhelming confidence clubs have in Kurt Okraku’s leadership.
The decision was reached during the GFA’s 31st Ordinary Congress in Prampram, which, as mandated by Article 31(2) of the GFA Statutes (2019), is held annually before the start of the football season to review progress, present financial and activity reports, and set strategic directions for the sport in Ghana.
“Clubs themselves called for the third term limit because of the good work Kurt is doing,” he emphasized.
Daasebre Adu Asare concluded by urging all football lovers to support the vision of the GFA President, adding that with unity and commitment, Ghana football can reach even greater heights.
