Ghana Association of Writers to hold 2021 Book Fair on September 21–22

The Ghana Association of Writers (GAW) is to hold this year’s GAW Book Festival, dubbed: “GAWBOFEST” on Monday, September 21, 2021, and Tuesday, September 22, 2021.

 press release signed and issued by Mr Francis Gbormittah, GAW President, said the opening ceremony for the Festival would be on Monday with a panel discussion on creative writing and publishing in Ghana.

He said: “On Tuesday, we will hold GAW Young Writers Forum, as well as a panel discussion on e-book dynamics and apps in Ghana, book readings by GAW award winning authors, and a closing ceremony.”

The theme for this year’s event is, “Empowering Ghana through Reading.”

The GAW Book Festival (GAWBOFEST) brings together various stakeholders in the book industry.

GAWBOFEST has, over the years, attracted renowned writers, diplomats, Members of Parliament, personalities in the arts and the creative industry, students, among others.

Activities held on the day include; book readings, poetry recitals, storytelling, book signings, quizzes, cultural performances, brass band music, face painting.
