GFA mourns Aduana fans killed in tragic post-match accident

GFA mourns Aduana fans killed in tragic post-match accident
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has issued a heartfelt message of condolence after two devoted Aduana FC supporters lost their lives in a fatal road accident while returning from Sunday’s Ghana Premier League clash.

The fans were travelling back from Kumasi—where Aduana held Asante Kotoko to a 1–1 draw—when the tragedy struck. Their commitment to the club, demonstrated by the long journey to support the team, has been deeply recognised across the football community.

In a statement, the GFA conveyed its sympathy to the bereaved families, the injured supporters, Aduana FC’s playing body and its entire fan base. The Association noted that the Premier League fraternity stands firmly with the club during what it described as an immensely painful period.

Executive Council member Frederick Acheampong has visited the injured fans, who are currently receiving care at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. The GFA further assured that it is maintaining close engagement with Aduana FC’s leadership and will continue to offer all necessary support.

“We pray for healing, comfort, and strength for the grieving families and a swift recovery for the injured,” the Association stated. “May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace.”
