The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially released the approved academic calendar for basic schools across the country for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The calendar covers Kindergarten, Primary, and Junior High Schools and outlines term dates, vacation periods, and examination timelines.

According to the release signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the academic year will begin on September 2, 2025 and end on July 24, 2026.

The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) has been scheduled to take place from May 4 to May 11, 2026.

GES reminded all stakeholders to observe public holidays within the academic year and noted that each term would include a two-day mid-term break. Heads of schools, teachers, students, and parents have been urged to take note of the dates and prepare adequately for the new academic year.

The statement also expressed gratitude to school heads, teachers, parents, and students for their dedication and efforts in ensuring the success of the 2024/2025 academic year, which ends on July 24, 2025.
