GES announces November 16 payment date for outstanding 2025 promotion arrears

GES announces November 16 payment date for outstanding 2025 promotion arrears

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that outstanding promotion arrears for staff affected by the 2025 promotion placement exercise are expected to be paid on November 16, 2026.

In a letter dated October 27, 2026, and addressed to Regional Directors, Management said it was working with the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) to ensure that all affected staff receive their outstanding arrears by the scheduled date.

According to the statement, the delay occurred because the CAGD payment system had been closed to facilitate the processing of October end-of-month salaries when the necessary inputs were expected to be made.

GES indicated that the payment system would reopen on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, to allow the required inputs to be processed and facilitate payment to affected staff by November 16.

Management also assured staff that discrepancies identified in the promotion arrears payments made on October 16, 2026, would be rectified accordingly.

The Service expressed regret over the delay and the inconvenience caused to affected staff.

Regional Directors have been directed to communicate the update to all staff awaiting their promotion arrears.
