GES announces nationwide recruitment of graduate teachers

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has opened applications for the recruitment of graduate teachers, targeting qualified and licensed educators to join the Service.

In a vacancy announcement dated April 10, 2026, GES indicated that it is seeking passionate graduates with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or related qualifications to fill teaching positions across the country.

According to the statement, successful applicants will be expected to facilitate learning using 21st-century technology, support students with diverse learning needs, and apply varied assessment tools to measure academic progress. Teachers will also be required to adhere strictly to professional and ethical standards while participating in continuous professional development.

Eligibility Requirements

GES outlined key criteria for applicants, including:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant degree with a postgraduate qualification in education.
  • Completion of National Service.
  • Registration and good standing with the National Teaching Council (NTC), along with a valid teaching license.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Willingness to accept postings, particularly in deprived districts.

Application Process

Interested candidates are required to apply through the official GES recruitment portal, complete the online form, and upload relevant documents, including academic certificates, National Service certificate, NTC license, Ghana Card, and a passport-sized photograph.

GES noted that applications will be accepted within a one-week window, from April 10 to April 17, 2026.
