Mr. Gabby Asare Otchere –Darko, founder of policy think tank; the Danquah Institute, has urged Ghanaians to move away from conspiracy theorists whose sworn agenda is to drum the idea that the 2020 voter registration exercise was schemed ensuring that a political party is placed at an advantage position over others.
Known for expressing his views and comments on national issues on social media platforms, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko took to his Facebook wall on Friday, September 25, 2020 to speak about the risk associated with politicization of the ongoing voter verification exercise by the Electoral Commission (EC).
Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko who is an analyst and Senior Partner of the Africa legal Associates pointed out that such practice is bad for the democratic growth of the country adding such situation could throw the country in chaos.
Cautioning against the politicization of the ongoing voter verification exercise, which was extended by the EC from September 25, 2020 to Sunday, September 27,2020, Gabby remarked “no party gains when the credibility of the electoral roll is challenged”.
“We should all be concerned if there are issues of names missing on the register. Let us not make it an NDC versus E.C thing. No party gains when the credibility of the electoral roll is challenged. Please let’s stop with the accusations and support the EC to fix it”, the post read.
