Martin Amidu Replies Presidency’s Interpretations Following His Resignation

The former Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu, has responded to comments made by the Presidency following his resignation as the Special Prosecutor.

The former Special Prosecutor in a corruption risk assessment, concluded that, there was an interference from the office of the president during his work on the Agyapa deal.

He added that there were breaches of the Public Procurement Act and the Public Financial Management Act about how the advisors of the gold royalty fund, Agyapa Royalties Agreement were procured.

In a lengthy response, Mr Amidu has described President Akufo-Addo as a President who took the Presidential “oath while looking like the innocent flower of anti-corruption but being the mother serpent of corruption under it.”
