A fire outbreak involving fuel tankers was recorded at Kpone, behind the GPHA terminal at the barrier, on March 24, 2025. At least three fuel tankers were engulfed in flames. The Ghana National Fire Service responded quickly, deploying five fire tenders to the scene to battle the intense blaze. Firefighters worked tirelessly to contain the situation, successfully preventing the fire from spreading further. After a rigorous effort, the flames were brought under control, averting a potentially more devastating disaster. Authorities are assessing the damage and investigating the cause of the fire. No casualties have been reported, but the fire caused panic among residents and workers in the vicinity. Emergency services remain on high alert as the situation continues to be monitored.
