Former Board Member of Kumasi Asante Kotoko and leading member of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh, is reported dead. The former Chief Executive of Ejisu Juaben Municipal Assembly under the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration is said to have been confirmed dead around midday on Sunday, October 6, 2024. He is said to have been sick for several weeks before his death, although the cause of his demise remains unclear. According to a report by Myjoyonline.com, sighted by GhanaWeb, he was admitted last week at the Living Waters Hospital in Kumasi but died at home after he was discharged. His death has since attracted messages of condolence and mourning, especially from figures within the NDC on social media. “Fare thee well, Wofa,” National Communications Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi, posted on Facebook.
