The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has appealed to the public to help trace the relatives of a Ghanaian national, Mr Solomon Apia, who died in Nigeria on July 5, 2021.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, the Ministry said Mr Apia had reportedly lived and worked in Nigeria for more than 15 years, where he was employed as a cleaner by construction company Stabilini Visinoni Ltd.

According to the Ministry, Mr Apia was born in Accra on March 6, 1960, was married, stood approximately five feet three inches tall and attended a Methodist primary school in Ghana.

Information retrieved from his phone suggests that he may have had relatives or acquaintances named Steven Yeboah, Wisdom Nanor, Nana and Eva.

The Ministry has provided some telephone numbers associated with the names as part of efforts to trace his next of kin.

Mr Apia was also reported to have used a Nigerian telephone number before his death.

The Ministry is urging anyone with information about Mr Apia’s relatives or who can assist in locating his next of kin to contact its Information and Public Affairs Bureau (IPAB) on 0240 79 25 86 or via email at IPAB@mfa.gov.gh.

The Ministry has expressed appreciation to members of the public for their cooperation and assistance in helping to locate the deceased’s family.
