Fire Service rescues 15 accident victims on Cape Coast-Accra highway

Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service have rescued 15 victims of an accident that occurred on the Cape Coast-Accra highway near the Childcare School junction.

The car involved in the crash is a Toyota Hiace with registration number GB 2053-22.

The accident happened at around 6:30 am when they were traveling from Takoradi to Accra.

Upon getting to the Cape Coast-Accra highway, the car reportedly veered off into a nearby bush.

The fire team called to the scene successfully rescued 10 victims trapped in the vehicle and five other passengers who successfully escaped.

The victims were handed over to the National Ambulance Service and transported to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital in three ambulances for treatment.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.

The Toyota Hiace was partially damage as a result of the incident.
