The Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, announced new recruitment. The Ministry of Finance has issued a warrant for hiring engineers. This is to support road supervision across the country.
Mr. Agbodza spoke at the Government Accountability Series on July 30. He emphasized that this move strengthens oversight of road projects.
He noted that the Roads Ministry is currently understaffed. There is a particular need for technical personnel to monitor construction works. “The Ministry needs qualified staff for effective supervision,” he stated.
New recruits will receive training for field supervision. Mr. Agbodza said this decision is part of broader reforms in the road sector. It aims to ensure value for money and quality assurance.
He stressed that better supervision is crucial to ending poor work and incomplete projects. The new hires will be strategically deployed nationwide. Their role will be to monitor project delivery and enforce contractor accountability.
