Ghana’s Black Stars have dropped three spots in the latest FIFA World Rankings released on Thursday, October 24, due to disappointing performances in their recent Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The Black Stars slipped from 70th to 73rd in the rankings after failing to secure a victory against Sudan in both of their encounters during the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
Northern Ireland, North Macedonia and Tunisia are the countries which have moved ahead of Ghana in the global rankings.
Additionally, the Black Stars have fallen two spots in the continental rankings as well.
Morocco is ranked 13th in the world, followed by Senegal (20th), Egypt (30th), Nigeria (36th), Algeria (37th), Côte d’Ivoire (40th), Tunisia (47th), Cameroon (49th), Mali (54th), Congo Democratic Republic (57th), South Africa (60th), Burkina Faso (62nd), Cape Verde (72nd), and Ghana (73rd).
In Africa, Morocco has risen to the top spot, with Senegal dropping to second. Egypt, Côte d’Ivoire, and Tunisia round out the top five.
