FIFA Rankings: Ghana drop to 77th after winless AFCON qualifying campaign

FIFA Rankings: Ghana drop to 77th after winless AFCON qualifying campaign
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Ghana has dropped four places in the latest FIFA rankings after failing to win any of their six games in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars have seen a significant drop, moving from 73rd place in October to 77th in November, with 1320.2 points.

In September, Ghana dropped six places following a home defeat to Angola and a draw with Niger in Morocco.

They dropped three more places in October after sharing a goalless draw with Sudan in Accra and losing 2-0 in the reverse fixture.

Things have now become extremely difficult for Ghana under Otto Addo, as they find themselves in 77th place, compared to 61st position for the Black Stars exactly one year ago, in November 2023.

In Ghana’s football history, the lowest-ever ranking for the Black Stars was 89th, meaning they are only 12 points away from equaling that record.

Amid all these poor results and rankings, the Ghana FA is set to give beleaguered coach Otto Addo another opportunity to save his career as he prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March 2025.
