A female kenkey seller has reportedly been arrested in connection with the death of 52-year-old tailor Felix Amanor, whose body was discovered at Dominion City near Pantoase in the New Juaben South Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The suspect has reportedly been arraigned before a court and granted bail, while the case docket has been forwarded to the Attorney-General’s Office for advice.
According to accounts surrounding the investigation, the arrest followed inquiries by investigators seeking to establish the circumstances leading to Felix’s death after he went missing on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
The suspect is alleged to have been in contact with the deceased shortly before his death. Investigators reportedly conducted contact tracing and other inquiries to identify the woman, with some officers allegedly posing as customers to purchase kenkey from her before her arrest.
Alleged Confession
According to unverified accounts, the suspect told investigators that Felix collapsed and died while they were engaged in an intimate encounter.
She allegedly claimed that, fearing her estranged husband might learn of the incident amid reported marital disagreements, she moved the body and abandoned it by the roadside.
The alleged confession and the circumstances surrounding the arrest have not been independently verified. The claims should therefore be treated as allegations pending official confirmation and the outcome of investigations.
How the Body Was Discovered
Felix reportedly left his home at Blue Street near Adweso on the evening of July 4 after watching the Canada-Morocco World Cup football match.
He is said to have returned home, changed his clothes and gone out again but failed to return.
On the morning of Sunday, July 5, residents of Dominion City discovered his body by the roadside and alerted the authorities.
Reports indicate that he was found wearing only his underwear, while his clothes and shop keys were discovered nearby.
His father, Godfred Amanor, said the incident was reported to the Adweso District Police Command. Officers subsequently visited the scene and conducted preliminary investigations before the body was conveyed to the morgue at St. Joseph’s Hospital for examination.
Sources familiar with the case reportedly indicated that there were no obvious serious external injuries on the body. However, the precise cause of death has not been established in the information available.
Family Seeks Answers
Felix, who worked as a tailor, is survived by his wife, who has reportedly been battling ill health for several years, and their two children.
He was buried on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
While the reported arrest represents a development in the case, questions remain about the circumstances of Felix’s death. Further official information and forensic findings are needed to establish what happened.
The suspect’s reported arrest and alleged statements do not, in themselves, establish criminal responsibility. The case remains subject to the legal process and any further findings by investigators.
