Twenty-nine (29) year old Josephine Panyin Mensah, is set to appear in Takoradi Circuit Court today, September 27, 2021 as the police investigate the circumstances surrounding her pregnancy, which they claim was fabricated.
When it was reported that Josephine, who was allegedly pregnant at the time, had gone missing following an early morning walk on September 16, police in the Western Region reacted to a distress call.
This drove the town into a frenzy, with rumors circulating concerning her location and safety.
Following her reappearance in Axim on September 21, police investigations revealed that the entire episode had been staged.
Three more people were detained for questioning.
The victim admitted to the crime after further interrogation and a negative medical examination at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital.
In a Facebook post from the Ghana Police Service, the suspect will appear in court today.
