FOR a musician to do proper music and attract the attention, Ghanaian Gospel musician based in Belgium, Bernice Panford, believes one needs to be guided by professionals.
According to Bernice who has been in the music industry for more than five years, she is always guided by experienced hands and one such person who has played a major role in her career is VGMA’21 Artiste of the Year, Diana Hamilton.
“I think it is best to have a competent person ‘taste’ your work when you are done. Sometimes, you might think everything is alright with your final work but a professional will see a few things that might help your final project. Ever since I came into contact with Diana Hamilton, she has been taking a second look at my work and I see massive improvement” she told Graphic Showbiz.
Bernice, a professional nursing assistant and an entrepreneur played with Duke’s Band before leaving Ghana for Belgium. She also worked with veteran musicians such as Tagoe Sisters and Rev. Yawson.
For the past four years, she has hosted her show dubbed Alabaster Box Worship Experience which has featured Gospel music greats including Diana Hamilton and John Sena. The fifth edition comes off in October.
Bernice who has two albums to her credit—Otumfuo and Overcomer finds great inspiration in her musical journey from the strides made by musicians including Stella Aba Seal, Amy Newman, Joe Beachem and others.
