Prophet Isaac Asante, leader of Rema Prayer Ministry, has advised children to evaluate their fathers’ quality of life before accepting their blessings.
In a recent interview on Plan B FM’s popular programme, Nyamesom Mmerɛ, hosted by Odiamono Kwaku Gyimah, Prophet Asante emphasised the importance of discernment in parental relationships.
“Evaluate a father’s quality of life before accepting his blessing,” he counselled, adding that anyone who wants to impart blessings should themselves be worthy of a good lifestyle.
“Whoever wants to impart blessings on you should be worthy of a good lifestyle, because their good lifestyle will make a good impact. As they impact both good and evil within them to you,” he explained.
Prophet Asante warned against blindly following or seeking blessings from fathers whose lives are not accepted in society.
“Don’t just consider a father whose life is not accepted in society,” he cautioned.
His words have sparked a nationwide conversation about the role of fathers in shaping their children’s lives, highlighting the need for children to thoughtfully consider their fathers’ character and lifestyle, recognising the profound impact it can have on their own lives.
Rev. Benjamin Boateng, leader of the Assemblies of God Cornerstone Family Chapel, echoes this sentiment, stating that about 80% of a person’s success depends on their father.
According to him, if a child’s role model is someone other than their father, it can lead to problems. He urged fathers to live exemplary lives worthy of emulation, providing a stable environment, imparting good values, and prioritising education to ensure their children’s well-being.
By combining both perspectives, it’s clear that these religious leaders stress the significance of responsible fatherhood and its lasting impact on children’s lives.
