Black Stars winger, Kamaldeen Sulemana, is expected to miss the start of the 2024-2025 English Premier League season.

The 22 year old is reported injured and would likely miss Southampton’s opening game of the season on Saturday, August 17 against Newcastle at the St. James’ Park.

Sulemana picked up an undisclosed injury at the time of writing in Southampton’s 2-0 loss to Oxford United and Southampton manager Martin Russell spoke about Sulemana’s situation.

“Kamaldeen will be out for three weeks” Russell stated after the loss with the news coming ahead of Southampton’s preseason game against Lazio on Wednesday, August 9.

The Saints will take on Spanish La Liga side Getafe on Saturday, August 10 after the Lazio test before taking on Newcastle to open the new season.

Southampton are on the verge of competing in the English Premier League on their return to the top flight division after getting relegated after the 2022-2023 season.

This development is the latest injury setback for Sulemana who has battled several injuries while playing for French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennes and Southampton.
