President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Mr. Emmanuel Siisi Quainoo as the acting Commissioner of the Gaming Commission of Ghana.
This appointment, effective from January 22, 2025, is in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 67 of the Gaming Act, 2006 (Act 721).
The appointment is temporary, pending the receipt of constitutionally required advice from the governing Board of the Gaming Commission, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
Mr. Quainoo’s appointment letter, dated January 22nd, 2025, and signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama, Ph.D., conveyed the President’s best wishes.
Mr. Quainoo has been asked to indicate his acceptance or otherwise of the appointment within fourteen (14) days of receiving the letter.
The Gaming Commission of Ghana is responsible for regulating and monitoring the gaming industry in the country, including casinos, sports betting, and lotteries.
