Election 2024: NCCE encourages Ghanaians to vote wisely on December 7
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Gifty Agyeiwaa Baidoo, the Tema Metro Director of National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) is urging Ghanaians to exercise their civic responsibility and vote wisely in the upcoming elections on December 7.

Emphasizing that the sovereignty of Ghana lies in the hands of its people and that they need to make informed decisions to have their voices heard, Mrs. Baidoo quoted the preamble of the 1992 Constitution, which states that the powers of government are exercised in the name and for the welfare of the people.

Mrs. Baidoo spoke to Nana Asabea on Plan B FM’s Nyansapɔ Fie show.

Fidel Nii-Akuffo Bortey, the Director of Tema West National Commission for Civic Education, also emphasized the importance of resorting to the law courts if people feel that those in power are manipulating things against them.

He encouraged citizens to keep pressing for their voices to be heard through legal means.

The NCCE has launched its Capacity Dialogue Committees (CDCs) to promote a peaceful and violence-free 2024 general election.

The Commission works to promote and sustain democracy and inculcate in the Ghanaian citizenry, the awareness of their rights and obligations, through civic education.
