EC Organizes Council of State Election Today

The Electoral Commission (EC) is today, Friday February 14, 2021, organizing the Council of State Election.

In accordance with Article 89 (2)(c) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, the Election is being held across all the 16 regions of Ghana. Today’s Election is to allow for regional representatives to be elected on the Council.

It comes after President Nana Akufo-Addo In pursuant to Article 89(2) of the Constitution, appointed 11 persons to the Council of State. Among the candidates contesting today are Ras Mubarak, Enouch Teyi Mensah, Alhassan Andani.
