E/R: Woman, 52, Crushed Dead By Car

Man, 42, Collapses To Death In Attempt To Butcher ‘Banku’ Seller

A 52-year-old woman, Beatrice Owusu has been crushed dead by an accident vehicle at Anum Apapam in Ayensuano District in Eastern Region.

The accident occurred on Friday, February 11, 2022, at about 11:30am when suspect driver Nana Anim Essah, 74, was in charge of an unregistered Kia Sorento with one person on board traveling from Asamankese towards Kyebi.

On reaching a section of the road at Anum Apapam Township on the Asamankese-Suhum road, a motorbike allegedly crossed the said vehicle which the suspect driver swerved to save the rider but unfortunately knocked a 52-year-old woman, Beatrice Owusu finally landed in a gutter in front of a store.

The victim was rushed to Suhum Government Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by the health authorities.

The body has been deposited at the same Hospital’s morgue for preservation and autopsy.

The suspect driver who sustained some injuries was also rushed to Asamankese Government Hospital for treatment.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, the accident vehicle to the police station for D.V.L. Testing to aide investigation.
