A steel bender, believed to be in his 40s, has lost his life after a falling plantain struck him while he was harvesting.

The incident occurred in a house near Jumapo police barrier, New Juaben North municipality in Eastern Region resulting in fatal injuries to the victim.

The unfortunate accident led to the plantain crashing onto the victim’s back, impacting his spinal cord.

Following the incident, he was promptly rushed to St. Joseph Hospital but was subsequently referred to Ridge Hospital in Accra due to the severity of his condition.

Despite medical efforts, the victim’s condition continued to worsen, prompting another referral, this time to a specialist at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Unfortunately, the steel bender succumbed to his injuries shortly after admission to Komfo Anokye Hospital.

The community is left in mourning as they grapple with the loss of a member whose life has been tragically cut short.

The victim is yet to be burried.
