In response to the the outcome of the several town hall E-levy meetings, A pressure group in the western region with the name Youth For Action have revealed their disappointment about how the Npp Government is going about such a sensitive issue.
Mr Nicheren Appiah Boadi a social commentator and the secretary for the youth For Action in the western region in an interview with Bohyeba Afriyie on PlanB FM’s Ebanoosen said that the youth for action deem the the E-levy tax as an obnoxious tax .
He indicated that there’s no need to implement it because it will cause a lot of harm than good to Ghanaians and that makes it a threat to the security of the country.
He listed some of the effect of E-levy as impediment on digitalization, increase in theft cases, unemployment and the E-levy a fight against our cashless system movement.
He concluded that he is shocked at the eagerness of the same Government who in opposition said taxation is a lazy man’s approach to governance to pick pocket money from citizens.
