Don’t touch our library – Concerned citizens of Sunyani West

Don’t touch our library – Concerned citizens of Sunyani West
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Concerned Citizens of Chirah in the Sunyani West Constituency have kicked against plans to convert an existing community library into a fire service station.

Speaking to Ohene Kinnah on EBANOSEN, an unidentified resident raised concerns and made allegations against the sitting Member of Parliament, accusing her of stating on the floor of Parliament that the people of Chirah cannot speak proper English.

“How can the MP now turn the library into a fire service station?” she questioned.

She explained that the residents are not opposed to the establishment of a fire service station but disagree with the decision to use the library facility for that purpose.

“We have proposed alternative locations such as the former Chirah Senior High School and the old district council site,” she added.

She further stated that the chiefs of Chirah have pledged to release a parcel of land at a suitable location for the construction of the fire service station.
