Don’t abandon me after Jan. 7 – Akufo-Addo tells NPP appointees

President Akufo-Addo has started preparing his plans for retirement less than 5 months to handing over to a new President.

As part of his plans President Akufo-Addo says he expects his appointees to pay him visits as he plans his retirement to Kyebi.

The President was speaking at the Manifesto Launch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) where he assured the party he hopes to handover to the to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as his successor.

According to Akufo-Addo he expects some of his appointees who were gathered at the Manifesto Launch to visit him at Kyebi.

“…when I hear that noise and I go to Black Square on the 7th of January then I am off to Kyebi and I’m expecting to see some of you there in my retirement.”

President Akufo-Addo will join ex-president Kufuor and John Mahama as one of Ghana’s only three living former Heads of states whether Mahama wins or not.

President Kufuor retired to Peduase Lodge.
