Discrimination in schools; could cause an inferiority complex – Rev Aning

Discrimination in schools; could cause an inferiority complex – Rev Aning
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Discrimination is the unfair or prejudicial treatment of people and groups based on characteristics such as race, gender, age, sexual orientation, and educational background.

Speaking on Plan B Fm’s family, relationship, and lifestyle show dubbed NYANSAPO FIE, hosted by Dr. Michael Asenso, on the topic ” DISCRIMINATION IN HOME, CHURCH AND SCHOOLS”.

Rev. Emmanuel Aning said discrimination is when people act on their stereotypes or prejudices referring to actual behavior towards another individual or group. Refusing a job to a person due to the person’s school he or she attended religion or gender is discrimination.

He continued that, people are of the believe that, they are more important than others because of their educational background and the school they attended hence they need to consider them as such.

He stressed that students are denied opportunities such as scholarships or extracurricular activities because of their race, sex, religion, national origin, or disability.

Madam Keasewa Nortey ( Lady Kess) also said that religion or belief discrimination is when you are treated differently because of your religion or belief, or lack of religion or belief, and the effects of religious discrimination can be far-reaching, for both the individual discriminated against and the business. It can lead to poor employee engagement, increased absenteeism, the loss of a valued member of staff, and a damaged employer brand.
