Details Of Our Petition To Parliament- Mobile Money Association Ghana

Mobile money Agents Association of Ghana has petitioned the minority caucus in parliament to ensure the new Electronic Transaction levy (E-Levy) is rejected when it is put before the house.

Mr Charles Addo PRO for Mobile Money Association Ghana in an interview with Bohyeba Afriyie on PlanB FM’s Ebanoosen revealed the Content of their petition letter sent to minority, majority and finance ministry .

“We have no political interest in the ongoing, all we want is what will help Ghanaians we are not NDC members because they are not in support of Elevy we are Ghanaians and we are fighting for Ghanaians “

He indicated that their petition contained 12 consequences of E- levy on Ghanaians .
He listed some as
Unemployment
Increase in crime rate
Closed down of business etc

He also said they met with The minority leader Honorable Haruna Idrisu and Ningo prampram Honorable Samuel George to deliberate on why they should ensure the new Electronic transaction Levy is Rejected.

He concluded that the Excuse being given to them is that the tax is only going to affect Agents but subscriber and what they have forgotten all Agents are Equally subscribers.
