The North Tongu Constituency Member of Parliament, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has descended on the government of Ghana in a hot Facebook post on Tuesday night, February 9, 2022, in relation to the E-Levy fuss in the country and the government’s claim of leading a Ghana beyond aid.
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said that it really marvels him a lot to see a government that is vehemently opposing the idea of going to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to seek help in salvaging the dreaded economic situation, but finds it absolutely comfortable to seek financial assistance from foreign donors to fund the GHS1 billion job creation programme, YouStart.
“It’s strange how a government which claims to be vehemently opposed to seeking help from the IMF has absolutely no difficulty whatsoever depending on foreign donors to fund its flagship GHS1billion job creation programme, YouStart by a colossal GHS614,912,000,” Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa wrote.
According to him, if the government is looking up to foreigners to contribute the largest amount of funding and take the responsibility in solving our highly abysmal youth unemployment situation as revealed by the last Population and Housing Census, then he wonders who the government is deceiving with the Ghana beyond aid mantra. Because it is total deception.
