Crystal Palace Edge Liverpool in Dramatic Shootout to Clinch Community Shield

Crystal Palace Edge Liverpool in Dramatic Shootout to Clinch Community Shield
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Crystal Palace showed resilience against Liverpool to win the Community Shield 3 – 2 on penalties after a competitive 90 minutes of football ended 2-2.

Liverpool’s new signings Jeremie Frimpong and Hugo Ekitike both managed to get on the scoresheet but it was not enough to see the Reds over the line.

The headlines belonged to Palace shot stopper Dean Henderson who made two crucial saves during the shoot out while Liverpool talisman Mohammed Salah sent his kick over the bar.

Palace have now won the FA Cup and the Community shield within a matter of months.
