Court Fines ‘Airport Junction’ Drifting Mercedes Benz Driver GH¢1800.00

Kofi Sasa Buckman, the man who was arrested for performing a drifting stunt in heavy traffic around the Airport junction, has been fined GH¢1800.00 by Kaneshie District Court in Greater Accra.

Buckman pleaded guilty to the charge of careless and dangerous driving and posing danger to road other users when he appeared in court today, Nonday, November 1, 2021.

He was arrested by the Chief Supt Eric Asiedu who is the Airport District Police Commander on Sunday, October 24, 2021, after he was captured by someone while performing a drift stunt at the Airport traffic intersection

He was remanded into police custody prior to his appearance before the District Court today. His Mercedes Benz car with registration number C 63-18 was later impounded by the police during his arrest.

Buckman reportedly turned himself in when a video of him went viral performing the drift stunt. The police, shortly after the video went viral mounted a search for him; a situation which compelled him to turn himself in.
