Council Of State Refers Togbe Afede To Metro TV For Documents On Travel Allowances

Togbe Afede Allegedly Refund Over 365k Cedis Government Paid Into His Account As Ex-Gratia

The Council of State has referred the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State Togbe Afede XIV who was a Member of the Council of State to Metro TV for documents on travel allowances paid members between 2017 and 2020 as requested by him.

Togbe Afede had requested the information through his aide after Metro TV journalist Paul Adom-Otchere had claimed that the eminent chief received allowances anytime he travelled from Ho for Council of State meetings.

In replying Togbe Afede, the Council of State in a letter signed by the Director in charge of Finance and Administration Stephen Blay said, “We refer to your letter with reference No.ASHMA F25 dated 10 June, 2022 on the above mentioned subject matter”

“Plcase be informed that the information requested is readily available by another public institution, Metro TV, who requested for same on 8 June, 2022 and have since put it into the public domain.
