The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers Ghana (COPEC), wants the Finance Ministry to break its silence on the rising cost of fuel prices.
With fuel prices expected to hit at least GH¢10 per litre, COPEC’s Head of Research and pricing, Sampson Addae, said Ghana’s economy is in danger of being wrecked.
In an interview with Bohyeba Afriyie on Plan B Fm’s Ebanoosen Mr. Addae revealed that the prices of fuel in the world market is also increasing but the Government can do something internally to help stop the rapid increase of the prices.
He said that the Government must work on Tema oil refinery so it’s start working ,that’s a long term solution to the problem and it should lift some levies of fuel prices, that’s a short term solution.
He added that the finance team must work on the rapid depreciation of the cedis because it’s the main cause of the increase of fuel prices.
He concluded that if nothing is done to solve the problem they will demonstrate Against the Government.
