Commuters Stranded As Private Transport Operators Begin Sit-Down Strike Today

Commuters Stranded As Private Transport Operators Begin Sit-Down Strike Today
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Coalition Of Private Transport Operators have begun its sit-down strike today Monday December 6, 2021 after several postponements.

The aim of the strike according, to them is to compel the government to reduce fuel prices that they say are causing their businesses to nosedive.

They have also threatened to increase transport fares to push the burden to passengers if the strike fails to yield the expected result.

Reports say the transport operators are moving around the transport stations ensuring none of their colleagues operate today.

Plan B FM’s Bismark Opoku ‘Captain BO’  who visited the Lapaz main station reported of a chaotic scene as  commuters were left stranded and has affected the movement of some workers and individuals who ply the road especially those who work outside the metropolis.

The situation remains the same at the Ashaiman station as only a few commercial cars were seen plying the road at the blind side of the striking drivers. Commuters were left stranded as striking drivers were playing football as passengers get stranded.
