The Church of Pentecost presented a cheque of GHc 1,000,000.00 (One million ghana cedis) towards the construction of the National Cathedral.

The cheque, presented on Thursday April 7th, 2022, was in fulfilment of a pledge of an annual budgetary allocation to the National Cathedral project.

The cheque was received on behalf of the National Cathedral Board of Trustees by Rev. Ebenezer Saka Ameyaw – Church Relations.

Presenting the cheque was the General Secretary of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Alexander N. Y. Kumi-Larbi and the Director of Finance and Administration, Apostle Lawrence Otu Nyarko.

This gesture have sparked massive uproar among Ghanaians and some members of the Church. According to majority of the people, the money could have been used for more important projects than to be donated for building national cathedral. Following how things have become difficult in this country, many suggested that amount could have been used to support some of the church members.
