The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Youth Employment Agency(YEA), Justin Kodua Frimpong, is likely to contest John Boadu is likely to be sacked from his current position as he readies himself to contest the current General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) John Boadu in the forthcoming national executive elections
Justin Kodua has been asked to choose between his current CEO post and his National Executive bid and communicate same to the appointing authority within this week or be sacked.
It is not clear if Mr. Kodua who is a trained private legal practitioner and former Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser of the party will yield to pressure not to contest Mr. John Boadu.
He has declined comment on the matter when reached by this portal but close associates reveal that it is top on agenda for high-level discussions on whether to rescind his decision to contest or not.
“Kodua has up to the end of this week to decide to contest or not to. If he will go ahead to contest, he may lose his position as CEO of YEA because he has received warnings from powerful persons within government to settle for one”, a source revealed under the condition of strict anonymity to this portal.
From August this year, posters started circulating on social media projecting the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) as the party’s next General Secretary though the incumbent John Boadu also announced his interest in contesting again.
Mr. Kodua himself has neither shared the posters on any of his official social media handles nor commented about them, but some influential people in the party with considerable followings on social media have openly campaigned for him on their walls.
Many who have posted, shared and commented on the trending posters believe that the young legal practitioner could be instrumental in the party’s resolve to break the eight-year governance jinx if he is given a clear-cut frontline duty in the party’s affairs and how it is run in the lead up to the 2024 elections.
Meanwhile, Mr. John Boadu has disclosed that Lawyer Justin Kodua cannot defeat him at the contest stating “I’m confident of retaining my post”
“I am confident I will retain my post considering what I have done beyond reasonable doubts. There is an agenda we are pursuing and optimistic of success. When we get there, we will separate the boys from the men”, he disclosed on Kumasi-based Hello Fm.
