The Director of Operations of the Progressive People’s Party, Divine Nkrumah, has underscored the need for the country to take decisive action against corrupt officials.
He lamented that people who have looted our state resources have given their children a better life, and now their children are also looting from us.
He was reacting to the update provided by Attorney General and Minister of Justice Dr Dominic Ayine on some corruption and corruption-related offences investigations.
Among the various cases included the allegations that Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), was arrested in connection with his alleged involvement in financial misconduct relating to a $7 million cyber defence system contract.
He disclosed this at a press briefing on Monday March 24, 2025 that that the former appointee was arrested for allegedly misappropriating public funds earmarked for the procurement of cybersecurity infrastructure.Reacting to this, Divine Nkrumah called for immediate action, including breaking the cycle of corruption.
In a post on Facebook, the young politicians opined that we must deal with corruption no matter the cost.He said our children may view us as failures for not taking part in the ongoing corruption.
His post read “We must break the cycle of corruption as a nation, no matter the cost. The same reason we’ve become beholden to those in power is why our children may suffer the same fate, unless we act. Those who have stolen from the state have given their children a better life, and now their children are looting the state to provide an even better life for their own kids or offspring. Tragically or Ironically, our families and children may one day view us as failures for not taking part in this corruption. Hmmm. 3y3 as3m oo. #Ghana, #The #CrimeScene”.
